I follow a lot of inspirational feeds on Twitter (follow me @mellyAnderson) and recently on LifeHacker, there was a post entitled ‘How to Take a Pay Cut for a Job You Actually Love (and Survive)‘. Click the link to read the full article, which offers some serious insight to those who are looking to do what they love for a living. So much of this article resonated with me because of what I’ve been going through over the past year, so I wanted to share!
I think so many people struggle with doing the ‘right’, ‘practical’ or ‘safe’ thing in life because it is what we know and we are creatures of comfort! I over-analysed my situation WAAAYYY too much, but that’s what I do – I’m not much of a risk taker (although I’m getting better). I can say now that I took the leap (after considering 90% of what is covered in the above article) and it has been worth it. So far. There’s still a long journey ahead of me. 🙂
For me, perhaps the most important question was ‘Will you have the support of the people you love?’. I can say hands down, I could not be doing what I’m doing without the support of my husband Pete, my family, my friends, my co-workers and everyone else who has helped to lift me up when I really needed it. THANK YOU!!!
I hope you enjoy the article! Follow your dreams – life is too short!!!
