I met my friend Paul about 10 years ago (where does the time go???) and after a crazy night out with some work friends in Ottawa involving beer and a coat rack, we’ve stayed in touch ever since. 😉 He is a wonderful singer and has a really amazing rock/indie/punk band called Monkeyface that plays in the UK – check them out on Facebook! Paul also hosts a radio show in Gloucester, UK called Monkey Madness. He has a fantastic personality and a wonderful sense of humour, definitely a natural entertainer with loads of talent.
Last night on his radio show Paul talked about my musical journey and dedicated a Sarah McLachlin song to me! I’m so tickled! Sarah is a wonderful Canadian artist who I respect and admire; her voice is really haunting. I used to play and sing some of her songs growing up and used her music to get over a few young lads! 😉 I’m honoured (yes, honour is spelled with a U in Canada and the UK) and thrilled that Paul did this – he has been incredibly supportive of my musical journey from the beginning for which I am extremely grateful. Paul, THANK YOU! I am so glad we have remained friends and appreciate your kind words and support more than you know. Someday I will get to the UK and we will sing together, even if it is in a pub for a pint!! 😀
To listen to the show, go to www.SevernFM.com and find the Listen Again service. Scroll down in the shows box until you find Monkey Madness and you should be able select the show from October 29th. The dedication is about 37 minutes in.
